Don't you always find (well at least I do anyway) that loads of lovely vintage iteams become available all at once, and it is always when you have the least money to spend. I find it is usually because when I have some money saved up it burns a whole in my pocket and I end up buying things that I like but am not neccessarily in love with.
For example, in the last few weeks I must have frittered away a fair chunck of my money on food and goodness knows what, and now a lovely 40s jacket that I have had my eye on for a while has suddenly been reduced to 50% off, but now I don't really have the money to afford it.
These are the times when I get irritated at being a student and not having an income of my own; luckily it will soon be easter and I will be able to earn some money to help towards my dwindling clothing allowance.
That's my little grumble for the day over.

Chester
So yesterday I went to Chester for the first time (since I was 18 months old, so that doesn't really count) with my friend Ellen; and had an amazing time looking round the shops, the historic buildings and the Cathedral.
As I intentionally didn't take much money (as I already have my eye on a pair of trousers from Heyday) I only ended up buying a new cardigan and some socks from H&M.
And for lunch, which was gorgeous as always, we went to Cafe Nero which I love.
Here are just a few photos from the day.
So overall it was a great day and I hope to go back to Chester at some point in the future, hopefully when the weather is a little better.

Ballet Shoes
Oops, ok so it has been over two weeks since my last post, but to be honest nothing very interesting has been happening of late and it has felt like all I have been doing is work, work, work. But I think this weekend may have helped get me out of my own little rut, as I finally left the bubble that is Keele Uni and went to visit my antie and uncle and baby cousin; it was so nice to see them as I don't normally get to see them that often as they live quite far away.
Anyway, while I was there I just happened to put the T.V. on and I found the film Ballet Shoes was on. I decided to watch it, as I have recently rewatched what I thought were all my vintage themed DVDs, but as I do own it on DVD I obvously can't remember every DVD I own, which is bad because when I am at uni I have to get my parents to bring some of my DVDs to watch each month. Pointer for the future, memorise DVD collection :p
But getting slightly off topic, I just wanted to recommend Ballet Shoes to anyone looking for a light hearted, family film, whether your intersted in vintage or not.
So that's it for today, but hopefully more inspired posts coming this way soon.

New Dress
Just a quick post to show off my gorgeous new dress that finally arrived today. Well when I say today I mean it actually arrived about 3 weeks ago to my parents house, but I have had to wait for them to visit me at university and bring it with them.
It is a 1930s blue floral chiffon dress bought from the lovely Jill at Adeline's Attic on etsy. If only I had more money I would buy everything on there :p
I just love it and I can't wait to have an event to wear it to.

Exam Stress
Ok had a bit of a stressful day today, having had a test on the stratigraphic time table; why anyone needs to be able to memorise all the stupid words is beyond me. And I have found that the only decent stress reliever is a large bar of chocolate and a good episode of vintage T.V. (Land Girls being my series of choice today).
But at least my next exam isn't for a couple of weeks, so let the destressing begin.

First ever post
Right here goes nothing. For a while now I have been thinking about starting a blog after reading so many other people's lovely vintage inspired blogs, so here it is.
I first became fully interested in vintage in the summer of 2010 after visiting a 1940s weekend at Crich Tramway Museum, it was wonderful seeing all the vintage vehicles and reenactors, it was so inspiring. But before that I had always been intested in history after visiting National Trust properties with my family and watching many historical documentaries, so I guess it was inevitable that I would end up studying history after being surrounded by it my whole life.
So I intend to try and post at least once a week about anything vintage related going on in my life, anything that might be inspiring me or just generally anything I find interesting and think you lovely people might like to read about.
Have a lovely week,
Annabelle xoxo
