Enid

Source
This morning whilst browsing through BBC iPlayer I came across the BBC film Enid, I knew about this film when it first came out but unfortunately never got round to watching it. So this morning that's exactly what I did; now it's not the happiest of films, but it does follow the true life story of Enid Blyton. The good thing about it is that you can't argue that it is very well acted, the main actors being Helena Bonham Carter (playing Enid), Matthew Macfadyen (who played Hugh, Enid's first husband), Claire Rushbrook (who played Dorothy, Enid's friend) and Denis Lawson (who played Enid's second husband Kenneth).

I have to say though that one of the things I enjoyed most about this film was looking at the outfits Helena Bonham Carter got to wear, and here are my favourite outfits from the film:

Helena Bonham Carter as Enid Blyton

I love this 1930s dress

I love the colour and pattern of this 1940s blouse

  2. Ooh, I didn't know about this! But like Helena Bonham Carter, love Enid Blyton's books and adore 1940s fashion... I'm in! (Although, slightly worried that if it's a sad film, the Magic Faraway Tree will be ruined forever. The Famous Five though, they were always a bit dark anyway...)
